    fantastic video and very well-behaved dog. Its very hard to teach your dog to be that polite when someone is taking his/her food and this could apply to any breed. Good Job!

    You should never use their name unless you are using it as a way to praze. Also. Those are very very high energy herders. They are very very smart. Give that breed what they really need and then train them!😊

    Has your dog ever attacked you or your family? My brother has a red cattle dog and its attacked me and my whole family. It just gets triggered by anything. Is this treatable with board and train or do we have to put him to sleep?

    Excellent advice. I've had a lot of different breeds. They each came with their natural instincts. Training is important. With each, training was important. I have an ACD, nipping/herding in his nature. As we worked together, understanding and training....Hank is amazing and we're fortunate to have him in our family.

    I really want a Blue Heeler but I don’t have children, i don’t feel confident enough to ask neighbours’s children to try these tricks, I know it’s kinda obvious but can I try these tricks with an adult. Because I want to prevent them to do this with my family/friends’s children.

    I have a rescue Heeler. He is a little bit of a dingbat, but so comfortable and well behaved around kids. He loves them. My eleven year old is his main person who has trained him to sit, stay, lay down, run obstacle courses, and other assorted tricks. Our pupper is such a smarty pants and we are blessed to get to have him in our family.

    My life as a child was saved twice by cattle dogs . They wouldn't let a paedophile near me when I was 5 and walking home from school. The first time I was lost in the bush overnight. I wandered out of the bush in the morning holding 'Cobber's' tail.

    It's actually better to not clip the tail! They use it for balance, I've had a few without the tail and watching them work cattle you can really see the difference of self control and the ability to avoid getting kicked and even staying low to the ground and centered. You made a good choice leaving the tail....everyone has different thoughts on things but in my experience with "working dogs" they overall perform better and are more accurate in movement control and speed with the ability to have well balance bc of their tail, I noticed more with younger cattle that are more aggressive and panicky from not being used to the dog's that my dog's with tails were able to avoid kicks or stomping much easier than my dogs without the tail and another thing I really liked is with the tail they were able to stay close and low to the ground much easier and longer directly behind the cows wich I really like. My clipped tail dog's had to lay down more than hunker low to the ground wich put them in more dangerous situations. Idk like I said everyone has different thoughts on things but just with my experience with working dog's I prefer the tail and if you watch dog's work you can see what I mean about the balance, they hold the tail out and slightly up and it definitely makes a difference...to me any way lol

      @79ltd Год назад

      I can't understand why anyone would cut their tails. My 4 year old is a super star when it comes to fetch. The tail is a balance rudder when it comes to turning on a dime. If the tail was really long like on a Boxer I can understand the crop. Not on an ACD.

    Scamp Lived in high sheep country when child Somehow ended up with blue heeler as our pet. Was fiercely loyal to us children. If parents wanted to discipline us (In those days a "" belting"" scamp ( dogs name) had to be removed from scene and tied up behind wool-shed or would bite and attack them Never harmed one of us. Was our natural protector from snakes,rogue rams.other not so friendly working dogs on place.
